The BIM Foundation is a british virgin islands foundation company dedicated to supporting the BIM ecosystem.

## What does the BIM Foundation do?

The BIM Foundation, by virtue of its constitutional documents and mission aligned with the BIM ecosystem, undertakes any action it deems beneficial to the BIM ecosystem. This may include:

* Entering into agreements with partners and third parties for the benefit of the BIM ecosystem.
* Holding and managing intellectual property rights on behalf of the BIM ecosystem.
* Managing grants of BIM tokens for projects that will advance the BIM ecosystem.
* Coordinate and fund research and development related to the BIM ecosystem
* Create and administer the BIM Improvement Proposal process - an open process (similar to the EIP process) through which Core Contributors and other community members can propose and discuss improvements to the BIM protocol.
* Hosting and moderating a user interface for the CAD governance process.
* Ensure transparency and report to DAO on the effectiveness of core contributors' work in order to account for BIM resource allocation.
* Communicate protocol and DAO updates to the wider BIM community.
* Promote decentralization of the BIM protocol.

## How does the Foundation work?&#x20;

The BIM Foundation is made up of a Board of Directors and senior executives.

The BIM Foundation is initially funded by BIM Groupe Holding International Limited, the originator of the BIM protocol.
